Thursday 2 April

Working with Anxiety and Fear

with Maitrisara and Nagadevi

8.30 – 9.45 on Zoom

The idea for this evening is to start at home at 7.30 and watch a video of a 20 minute talk given by the Chair of the London Buddhist Centre, Suryagupta. Click the link here to watch it.

The video’s audio and visual is a bit out of synch but its a little gem of a talk about working with anxiety and fear in the current situation we all face. Note it was recorded just before the lockdown last Monday.

Suryagupta also mentions walking meditation which some of you won’t be familiar with. If you are finding sitting meditation a struggle at the moment (and even if you aren’t), walking meditation is a wonderful thing to try. There are some notes here you could check out on how to do it.

When you arrive in the Sangha Night session at 8.30, Nagadevi will lead a period of meditation and then we will split into small groups to discuss some questions arising from Suryagupta’s talk. How do we work with anxiety in the three ways she mentions – physical, mental and spiritual? And how can we build those into our daily routines?
